jethro tull and the flute

cool ian anderson stuff at Bill St. Clair’s. who knew ian anderson would be so chatty and detailed? reminds me of a letter this kid brought into work to show me when i was 19 or 20. i was just getting into queen, learning how to sound like brian may on guitar (which ain’t easy). the kid was a total queen freak, and had written brian may for a school project where they tried to get replies from celebrities. brian may answered the kid’s many questions like a champ, drawing squiggly lines from each one down to its answer, and sending it back in an official queen envelope that looked super old school classy.

just remembered that ian anderson was mentioned on the LRC blog a while back:
Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson on the Airlines
Jethro Tull, From The Ancient Archives

tull’s web site is notable for its clear design and star participation. many official band sites seem to have little to do with the band members, looking more like lame marketing attempts that happened to get rights to the URL for a kickback.
