dreams of liberty, western style
in the next week or so i’ll be writing here about my hunting trip to the bitterroot mountains (cool name) out west. met some great people, and many of the usual shysters. liberty is on the way out even in the northwest. in my zeal for freedom, i sometimes initially ascribe freedom characteristics to people who are just as evil as their eastern counterparts — a lesson i’ve learned to the point where it won’t happen again, i think.
i’ll also be writing about being unlawfully detained, searched, and frozen by organized crime (LE) in a certain state that would surprise many people. however, after dudley hiibel’s persecution, i’m not one of them. it’s nice to see the reaction of the ruling class though after you’re free of their immediate grip and can turn the guns of “the law” on them (happening as i write this). they sure don’t like being told what to do under the threat of force. wonder why that is! oh, the fun we’re going to have. have listened to more garbage-disposal effluence from more mafia bureaucrats than i ever wanted to be aware of. it’s all self-serving/preserving lies with a common theme: “we are your rulers. get over it.” there’s a problem for them though, albeit a minor one: the same law they claim to enforce.
teaser: i had a hummer H1 full to the gills with scuba diving equipment, guns (including a high-power sniper rifle with bitchin scope, and a dreaded pistol with the oh-so-scary “.50″ in the caliber), ammunition, video gear, and other items associated by dumbasses with terrorism. i had medical gloves in my pocket (pull the “anthrax alarm” somebody), and was at… [drum roll] an airport (ooooh!) — gun belt w/loaded glock 21 .45, 2 knives, 2 spare mags, and a “police” flashlight in plain view between the front seats of the vehicle when i was assaulted by a certain western state’s “finest” under the ruse of “homeland security”.
so what was it the barney fife lifers of american LE wanted to see, and for which they confined me by force because i refused to even discuss it? a hunting license. i wasn’t hunting there, or even in that state. i was wearing camo. i’ll tell the whole story here, though it might be done in court first. we’ll see. one of their last questions was, of course, “can we search your vehicle?”
for homeland security.
“blow me” was the first phrase that came to mind. it was tempered to something along the lines of “i absolutely do not consent to a search.” however, the game warden, who was arguably the least of the 3 jackoffs, was given a hands-off peek for antlers and/or helicopter parts — only because there were no witnesses, and they were holding the A card (arrest) over my head and probably aching for impoundment.
after the illegal, invasive search of my clothing (not just a frisk, which also was illegal under the circumstances), dipshit #1 asked, “what were those things in your pocket?”
um, those would be SureFire flashlights, faggot — something your exulted department apparently didn’t steal enough from the populace to afford. maybe if you have some time off from fucking goats next week you could look into it.
aw hell, i just gave away the state.

Charley:
Right on!
It continues to amaze me how many people willingly abdicate their Fourth Amendment rights when they’re in the presence of Law Enforcement.
As it so happens, me and a buddy were in a similar situation. We were about to go surfing, boards strapped on the roof, when we were pulled over for a seatbelt-related offense.
Suddenly the prick starts up with the whole “you don’t have any drugs or weapons in this…”
“I’m not letting you search this car,” my buddy shot back.
“What’s your problem?” sniffed the blueshirt.
“I actually still believe in the constitution,” was the response.
Needless to say, the prick called for back up and we each had to wait while he ran a 50-state “wants on warrants” check on each of us. When he came up empty, he subjected us to a ridiculous lecture and let us go…
I’ll be looking forward to hearing about your ordeal…don’t let the bastards get away with anything!

thanks, cletus! yes, i’m moving forward on it. met with the lawyers for about 2 hours the other day. have to do some research, etc., but i’m gonna make an issue out of it. sounds like you know exactly how disgraceful these “bad stops” are. sorry to hear about that. leaves a pit in my stomach just thinking about that night they prodded me.

Stay on ‘em! And if I can be of any help, don’t hesitate to let me know.
Meantime, I’m hoping you say more about that .50-caliber pistol …

thanks, sunni. on that .50, it’s just a desert eagle piece o’ crap. don’t ever buy a magnum research product without trying it first! i sent it back for repair straight out of the box, but it’s a design problem. i should blog the entire thing just so it’s available for people looking to buy. the desert eagle .50 (at least the design i have) cannot feed the last round reliably. they probably get away with it because it’s a novelty pistol. people drag it out to impress their friends. and it does leave an impression, though with the extra weight it’s not much more recoil than a heavy .44 mag.

I’m a Montanan and have a few questions. There are no commercial airports in Mineral County, so assume you were flying in with a small airplane? Why did you have a Hummer if you were arriving? In Montana the police cannot search your car without a warrant; so, you should have demanded that. Why were you dressed in camo when
bow hunting season is over? Are you aware that Mineral County is about 50 miles from the old Aryan Nations Compound at Hayden Lake, Idaho, and that 12 Muslim Jihadists had been recently arrested in nearby Washington state? Thus, don’t look too Aryan or Middle-Eastern (lol).
It does sound like that Mineral County LE went above and beyond the call of duty. This sounds very unlike typical Montana LE procedures. Are you leaving anything out in your story (drinking, abusive language, etc.)?
I have many friends in the St. Regis area that might help. Do you have any any witnesses? The Militia of Montana headquarters is at Noxon (only a few miles away). They might be of help. Montana State Senator Jerry O’Neil (a Libertarian) might also be willing to help investigate the matter. All in all,I would like more details. The behavior described is not tolerated in Montana.

hi. thanks for your comment. because it’s headed to court, i’m not going to go into all details, but here are some things that i hope will clarify:
- it was mineral county airport, a small, public, general aviation airport.
- i didn’t fly in. i drove in to see the airport because i’m a pilot and interested in airports. happened to be in the area. was also looking for any hint of an FBO (fixed base operator).
- there was a sign on the fence, posted visibly enough, stating that unauthorized entry was prohibited. the gate was wide open. i saw the sign, read it, and decided that i, a licensed private pilot, was authorized to enter a public airport (i verified the airport specs on my aviation GPS).
- i drove very slowly, with my lights full on, at one point blasting my hella lights as well.
- i didn’t go anywhere near the helicopter, and stayed as far from the single other aircraft as was practical.
- i didn’t see any signs of life or an FBO, so i turned off my hella lights, kept all my other external lights on, turned around, and attempted to exit the airport driving slowly. total time at airport to that point: about 3 minutes. i was intercepted on the way out by the deputies who lit me up as they approached. to that point, i hadn’t exited the vehicle at the airport.
- i immediately turned on my internal lights full (including the cargo light of the hummer H1), slowed to a stop, rolled down my window, kept my hands visible on the steering wheel, and spoke to the woman driving the cop car. i said hello and told her i was an out of town pilot just having a look. i was polite, with a friendly tone. when she got out and stood next to my door, i told her that i had a pistol “over there” (pointing to it), and asked if she’d like for me to get out of the vehicle.
- why i was wearing camo is a long but harmless story. had nothing to do with being at the airport. not relevant at all to the story except as they ran with it as a hook into my skin. they didn’t think i was hunting at the airport. re hunting seasons, i wasn’t hunting in montana at all. i never have hunted in montana. i was hunting in idaho and staying in montana whenever snow threatened to lock me in behind roads that would be closed all winter. if you’re familiar with the area, i was going up cedar creek rd almost daily (past missoula lake, toward st. joe lake trail). had just come from there because the snow kicked my ass out. more long details that are only relevant peripherally.
there are tons of details, but i’m going to have to leave it at that. if you’re curious, i understand that it might sound like bullshit, but i’m serious about litigating this, and i’m not going to speak informally about it other than to relate basic facts. if you’re still curious, let me know and i’ll look into copying you on formal papers as it goes down. i appreciate very much the offer of help. i’m going to offer these assholes a principled, non-financial way out that they should accept if they’re smart. i don’t want to go to court. however, if they want to be the pricks that they are, to court we shall go. if that’s the case, i’d like to have freedom-minded montanans on my side.
oh, on the warrant, i didn’t demand a warrant because they don’t need a warrant to ask to search a vehicle. i declined their request to search, as outlined (another long story).
yeah, they mentioned aryans along with homeland security and whatever spook story they could come up with. good thing i hadn’t shaved my head recently (my normal grooming method, purely for convenience reasons); i might have been detained longer until they brought the head of aryan nations to ask for my membership card.
drinking? no. abusive language? no.
thanks again. if you’d like more details, let me know and i’ll keep you posted as i frame the case. still doing initial research and inquiries. will keep those contacts in mind. here’s another post on the subject you may not have seen.
btw, i’ve been told by my lawyers that technically i can still be charged with trespassing. they are almost hoping that i am. me too, i must admit.
