bush is not hitler?
nuance dies more deaths each day. in an otherwise important article, doug newman stresses that “Dubya is not Hitler”. he has “said it time and again”, with this latest just prior to comparing today’s US with nazi germany. but oh no — bush isn’t hitler! well how the fuck not? and who says he’s the first reincarnation?
if we’re to be goofy about it, one could argue that bush isn’t hitler because hitler is dead and bush isn’t. or one could argue that bush isn’t hitler because hitler was someone else — different DNA, blah blah blah. nobody is anybody else. but if for logic’s sake we’re not to be prohibited from noting similarity between two different people, then we certainly must not shy from doing so between different people at similar points in their evolutions. liberty people should not apologize nor back off for making comparisons between hitler and bush. i know personally the backlash that comes from mentioning hitler in almost any discussion of contemporary problems. “absurd!” comes the retort, just a little too knee-jerked. however, it’s not absurd. absurd is the requirement that bush slaughter 6 million jews before any serious comparison to hitler may be made.
hitler hadn’t yet slaughtered untold millions in 1935. what’s important and salient in comparing bush to hitler are — crazy crazy — the important and salient similarities. that there are major differences in actions to this point is not license to walk away from the examination. there are certainly astonishing flash points for those simmering frogs who know the temperature of the water despite how slowly it got there.
the fervent denial of bush defenders should be noted. take a quick trip with me in a time and situation machine:
you are a staunch “republican”. we are strolling, discussing politics. it’s 1985, the height of the “reagan revolution”. i say to you, “imagine it’s the year 2005, and the following has happened in america [never mind some of the statist language; you're a "republican" remember. also, i have deliberately avoided linking to external sources, in the hope that some bush lover will say i've made something up]:
- a president is about to begin his second term. he came to power in 2000 after pressuring the US supreme court to declare that he was the winner of florida’s electoral votes, despite florida’s disagreement. the vote in florida was so close that it wasn’t clear whether he’d won or lost. when at his first inauguration he swore an oath to uphold the constitution, he’d already scorned it.
- he presided over the US military (including the air national guard) during history’s deadliest air attacks over US ground. despite overwhelming “proficiency” and usable advance notice, the US federal government, contravening long established NORAD policy, did not prevent the attacks. the president, however, placed himself in a high tech spider hole after reading a book to schoolchildren, knowingly during the attacks. [despite apologist revision, it was the second WTC hit, not the first, of which bush was informed in that classroom; he was told of the first when entering the building.]
- using obvious scare tactics and deception (later exposed to even his most ardent supporters), he began an unprovoked war with a country that had done nothing to the US, nor threatened to do anything but defend itself heartily if attacked. saudi arabia, the country from which most of the attackers originated, had its citizens pampered by the president.
- claiming to liberate the country he invaded, he killed and maimed thousands of peaceful civilians, and instituted a brutal occupation that has approached 2 years, with no end planned. those who resist his violent invasion and occupation are labeled terrorists and murderers. he declared war against that country without a constitutional amendment to grant him the authority. even now, he swears it was the correct course.
- his administration continually indicates that they are just getting started. his administration is packed by those from a “think tank” which has for years preached global domination by the US.
- he and his attorney general claim the authority to lock up anybody forever, deny him legal representation, and never bring him to trial — all without evidence. they are accountable to no one. further, they use this policy against so many people that his administration must wrestle with where to house them until they die. [ring any bells?] the president’s administration fights to see that those few who come to trial do so via a military bypass of the civil courts.
- he founded the “homeland security” department, a colossus under which citizens all over the country now hear routinely, “papers please.” the act of refusing to show papers can alone result in ruination by professional govgoons. travel by air, train, and bus is severely restricted to the point where many people abandon such transportation. his “transportation security administration” (TSA) created standard procedures whereby all who wish to board planes are subject to invasive searches of their private parts (breasts, crotch, ass). any protest beyond muted submission marks one for arrest and prosecution. civil libertarians are put on “no fly” lists, and harassed so that they miss their flights. or they are prohibited from flying altogether. there is no appeal process to this flight ban, nor any accountability on the part of government. government can’t even decide what the official list of banned citizens is.
- many regulations of the TSA are considered secret, and may not be disclosed even to members of congress. you may be charged with crimes for violating these hidden regulations. you are prevented during your trial from even finding out what they were.
- under his justice department, peaceful and productive people have had their livelihoods and reputations destroyed for manufactured crimes such as “obstruction”. “obstruction” is what used to be called failure to incriminate oneself.
- under his administration, political demonstrations are confined to areas and structures where they cannot be seen or heard. people at many of his public campaign appearances must swear loyalty oaths (not called that, naturally).
- he signed a bill, called “The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act”, which threatens criminal action against certain groups for mentioning publicly the name of a political candidate up to 60 days before an election. a sitting supreme court justice called it the “most significant abridgment of the freedoms of speech and association since the Civil War.”
- he routinely touts the expansion of socialist programs that would redden FDR’s cheeks with sexual excitement and, perhaps, a smidge of jealousy.
- running on a platform of “free trade”, one of his first acts as president was to enact a 30% tariff on foreign steel. running on a pro-gun platform, he then touted his intention to sign rabid anti-gun legislation were it presented to him.
- to feed his war against countries which have not threatened the US, he created a draft, calling it something else [everything evil gets called something else by this asshole].
- his justice department composed documents asserting the right of US forces to torture enemy soldiers, relying on the artifice of calling the enemy soldiers something other than “enemy soldiers”.
- after incontrovertible proof surfaced that his administration was supporting torture (both direct and, by flying victims to countries where they can be tortured by non-US personnel, indirect), he nominated the principal advocate of his torture authority to be attorney general for his second term. congress appears to have buckled.
- the federal debt has flown past $7,500,000,000,000.
- though claiming to be a christian, his justice department stood by with thumbs up asses when goons arrested peaceful christians and claimed that their crosses and bibles were “instruments of crime”.
- his justice department banned an anti-tax book, and ordered its author to stop giving lectures.
- under this president, secrecy and claims of state power are rising exponentially. “liberty” now means “under US government control”. “honor” now means “willingness to do whatever you’re told.” “heroism” is the measure of the speed with which one gives himself up as trash when so ordered. the accountability of government is declining ever faster. war is glorified to the point where it, and american national socialism, are revered more vocally and more frequently than god himself.
bush is no hitler? pull your head out of your ass; he’s just ramping up. stop apologizing for delving into the obvious. away with the absurd requirement that bush must do everything hitler did before he may be rightfully denounced for dangerous, shameless, increasing imitation. if you are a christian, you should be even more worried that bush’s path toward government approval to even exist (i.e., national ID) brands him as the actual, literal antichrist. (don’t laugh at me; it’s your doctrine.)
psychologically or physically, we all bear the mark of the beast even now. and bush’s teflon coating grows stronger the worse he gets. if in your eyes bush is not hitler, admit that he’s laying the groundwork for the next one too efficiently to ignore.

Yes, Bush created the Dept. of Homeland Security, after being intially against this “colossus” which it certainly has proven to be, after DEMOCRATS supported its creation.

so you’re saying that bush has no balls?
