FBI May Have to Scrap New Computer Program — Report

The FBI may have to scrap a new computer program aimed at helping agents share information in the war on terror because officials consider it inadequate, the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday.

The newspaper, citing unidentified officials, said the FBI was so convinced the software, known as Virtual Case File, would not work as planned that it had taken steps to start soliciting outside proposals for new software.

The paper said the FBI recently commissioned independent studies to determine if any part of the Virtual Case File software could be salvaged. A decision to proceed with new software would add tens of millions of dollars to development costs and render worthless much of a $170 million contract, according to the report.

aw, that’s alright, fellas — shit happens. there’s more money where that came from.

tell ya what though. what y’all need to do is to wrap up your teeny organization into the arms of a big daddy gi-mongorous department — something that would sort out all your problems through… (searching for a word here…) oversight (whew!), and prevent these little $170 million fuckups.

but you’re doing just fine. don’t take this as criticism. same sorta thing happens at private businesses. of course, they have that nasty little “going out of business” problem that seems to have skirted you fucking assholes just fine.

so like i said: get stuffed.
