bonnie parker

if you’re a cinema buff, try to think of any goodbye scene more powerful than this, the last, furiously loving look between bonnie and clyde just as the machine guns began to light. despite a slight aura of 70s-style cheesy editing (maybe because of it), it’s 4 delicious seconds of memorable film. funny how it’s the movement though, not this still, that conveys it all.

few consider the killing of bonnie parker to be a tragedy. it’s one of those classic questions to ask when the subject arises in casual conversation: “why was bonnie parker killed?”

do you know? i don’t. look at the FBI’s own site and see what you find about parker being shootable on sight. one thing you will see is the FBI trying to name drop its way into history for killing the pair. “we were on the case!”

from what i’ve read over the years, it seems bonnie was killed because some LE dickheads figured it was easier than not. and what a story to tell back at home base — roadside trial by BAR.

When I first saw “Bonnie & Clyde,” I was 15 years old and thought Faye Dunaway was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. I just wish she’d stopped making movies after “Chinatown.”

she’s different. the first 5 minutes of B&C should make any male worth his salt take serious notice. “feminine” is one way to put it! heh heh.
