For years I viewed Lincoln as one of the "Great Ones."

However, over the decades, as my constant non-fiction reading and the casting off of public school propaganda and the many forms of "brainwashing" we are immersed in from birth were diluted by attempts to formulate my own opinions; I realized that Lincoln's actions merely gave the federal government more power and authority over the citizenry.

Much of what I see wrong with the federal and other governmental entities within the USA today began with Lincoln.

Whether Lincoln purposefully desired an all-powerful fed. govt. IS debateable. Maybe a few elites took advantage of the seed Lincoln planted.

What I do know is that my opinion about Lincoln has altered tremendously and it is difficult to keep my opinions to myself when teaching the classroom full of brainwashed young minds about Lincoln as well as many other aspects of history.
