fuck "van halen"
the usual hype from EVH and company, insisting his new glomph sounds great and is really, truly going to include diamond dave (AKA david lee roth). beyond the normal unreliability of that statement, just one problem, bozo.
where is michael anthony? this guy can’t get any respect.
“Michael Anthony is part of this band’s history…Meet us in the future, not the pasture,” Roth said of Anthony’s absence.
please tell me dave roth didn’t just say that. the unique perfection that was van halen didn’t come only from the bombasts of the group. michael anthony was the guy for that band. not the best best player in the world (kind of a hack sometimes), but he was the best for van halen. what really pisses me off though about them firing the guy and trash talking him is that in many ways anthony was the van halen sound. name a VH hit that didn’t have his stellar pop backing vocals lighting up the sky. the guy was a rock, and they suck ass for pissing it away so 16-year-old EVH son wolfgang can supposedly take his place.
i’ve never heard wolfgang play, but i suspect, him being EVH’s kid, he’s proficient as hell. not the point. he may even do a good imitation of anthony’s voice. who knows; his dad used to sing pretty well. irrelevant.
piss on DLR for participating in this sham. what a shit way to supposedly do something fans have been anticipating for many years. no chance you’ll see me in line for these walking, yapping dildos with too many watts and no heart.
that should spell the end of ‘em.

Been a huge VH guy since the late 70’s. Nothing short of monstrous music by my reckoning. The loss of Dave in ’84 was a major blow as I thought back then, but with the release of 5150 I was converted. That album with Hagar was nothing short of a masterpiece….I still listen to it often…lol
Once Hagar was ousted and I read about the dreadful bickering of the events that led to his dumping by the brothers my loyalty to the fuckers ceased. I really liked Hagar and the music evolved with him on board which took the band to stratospheric heights with great kick ass rock.
The fact they have the ability to ditch the backbone linchpin “Uncle Mikey” out of the band on the basis that they can because Eddie or Alex decree it, is shitty and hurtful not only for the band but the integrity of the group known as VH. Ed just seems to me fucking bitter about life and everything is purely for money from many articles over the years that I have read and seen on youtube. The heart and soul of the band is gone and that’s what VH was once all about and everything since Hagar’s departure has been a reflection of that shitty karma that has enveloped them.
To me Van Halen as I remember them is depicted in the Live Without A Net concert video.
Btw I never did get a chance to see VH concert with Roth mainly cause the folks didn’t want jack to do with it and was too young to do shit without them however I did manage to see them with Hagar 4 times over the years in the late eighties and early nineties. ….how I yearn for those days again, many fond memories even though I do have shorter hair nowadays…lol .
Thanks for the fond memories Salty because to me that’s all VH are right now and have been that way for me a long time.

not a hagar fan at all, though i think he handled himself well at the rock award thingy hall of fame bash or whatever it’s called. nah, when i say “van halen”, i mean only the essential 4.
damned straight eddie’s a washed up fuck. how the hell do you get like that? must be because he’s stupid, which leads to frustration dealing with diamond dave, since dave can run intellectual circles around most cats, despite his moron exterior.
nah, i figured VH died in the 80s. let ‘em stay dead. pretty much a guarantee that they’ll fuck up every hit they perform on this tour. watched video of their press conference. disgusting, that phony routine between dave and EVH. anybody buying that bullshit?
saw the DLR VH twice. he was the god of stage presence — one of them anyway.
