ha! i’m watching a vintage weather report vid from the golden era of jaco pastorius (late 70s), and it just hit me seeing one shot of the man (during a stellar transmission of “A Remark You Made”) that — gulp — i had a girlfriend not too long ago who sorta looked like him 
(in a brief portion from this vid anyway, not the photo here, obviously).
she didn’t play bass though, so i guess i’m… only half creepy. yikes.
anyway, jaco and joe, i miss you motherfuckers. hope we keep for a long time wayne the force and every other dude from the triumph period (anything pre-’82 or so).
WTF, here’s (.MP3 5.3MB) a fuckly-recorded/mixed song from ’88 i wrote about jaco when i heard he died. (didn’t write the beginning “In a Silent Way” quote, of course.) the bullshit circumstances and glitches underlying it needn’t be explained; it’s, um, sub par — technically and otherwise.
