get it straight on rights
surprised to see the usually superior manuel lora (of LRC/LvMI) today fall into the language of statists, ending a blog post with, “I’m sorry to inform you, Mr. Perry, that you have no rights.”
language is the bulwark holding the state at bay. when the state can corrupt language to the point where normally sound liberty writers adopt wrongness, all other destruction is possible.
rights are unalienable; they cannot be taken away — cannot be separated from each man. yes, it may seem a picky bullshit point, and i know i’ve fucked this up in the past, but it is important. no man or group of men can reduce or remove the rights of another. thinking otherwise is what leads most to this wretched presumption all around us that rights are granted by a group of thugs, turning the living of life into privilege — something they may correctly restrict or remove.
when the state behaves as the criminal it is, it does not change your rights in even a small degree; it infringes your exercising of those rights. it matters.
never apologize for existing peacefully.
