longtime LRC poser ass ryan mcmaken today implies that there’s significance in “the grammar used when referring to the UAE at the wikipedia site” — specifically the plural part of the phrase “the UAE were known as”.

textbook LRC fuckup:

  • plural for a singular org is classic british; the author is unexamined by poser douchebag ryan mcmaken.
  • nobody with a brain and relevant experience assigns moment to a wikipedia article, let alone the arbitrary preservation of the plural form chosen by a — wait for it — single, essentially anonymous author of a few-word snippet. oh, what weighty significance, the potentially no-meaning-intended typing by this lone dude.

LRC wanking over the increasingly horrible wikipedia remains nearly as ingrained as calling anything not overtly statist “heroic”.

beginning of the wikipedia article’s opening paragraph:

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) [...] is a Middle Eastern federation of seven states [...]
