selective embrace of murderers and thieves
since anti-truth hags were apparently able to get my iTunes review of “Free Talk Live” axed (uncomfortable, huh?), now — when the show and co-host/co-murderer mark edgington (now “mark edge” — wonder why) are being bathed in mild-to-high praise over at LvMI — seems a good time for a reprint:
liberty and honesty are inseparablefor the ultimate in dishonorable backtracking and spin, track down the 29 jan 2007 FTL episode and listen to co-host mark edgington bamboozle his way around the truth: he intentionally and dishonorably withheld from listeners that he assisted in the 1988 murder of motel manager ballapuran umakanthan. someone on the FTL BBS busted him on the “small” detail, and he had no choice but to deal with it on the air.
what kind of libertarian claims to have paid a debt for murder by wasting away in prison for 9 years? of ballapuran umakanthan’s family, i heard not a word re recompense from edgington. that the kind of “man” you want to listen to? have at it, if you can get around the veritable police siren phony FM DJ voice of high-talker co-host ian bernard, and the perpetual utilitarianism of “free” talk live.
about this proportionately unrepentant cretin two posters at LvMI said,
[...] It’s interesting to see the sincere but confused and fumbling host Mark utterly unable to articulate a coherent defense, or even definition, of IP, especially in response to intelligent criticism by his callers. Anyway, the show is good and Mark and Ian are both great.
~stephan kinsellaAs a final note, I would like to note that Mark is an excellent libertarian (far better than any of the often watered down libertarians on the LP). IP is just one of the (very few) issues where we disagree.

what has mark edgington done with regard to attempting the restoration of ballapuran umakanthan’s family? in the show where the subject of mark’s role in the murder, and what followed, were to have been fully addressed, all i heard were two ultra-slimy snakes attempting to hold on to their audience with shameless ducking, trying to toss this wholly unsavory subject away. wouldn’t have been necessary had mark acted honorably despite his uber fuckup of helping murder someone.
helping murder someone. did you catch that part, FTL slurpers?
here’s the direct link to the 29 jan 2007 episode (.MP3); libsyn.com says they don’t charge for bandwidth.
if you do enough happy-talk liberty-bullshit PR, the LRC/LvMI crowd will apparently forgive any slight… oh, unless it regards something more important than restitution failure/refusal after assisting in a murder — something like not buying into steffy P’s one-trick-pony IP dance.
great work, “gentlemen”. ducks all in a row.
