no hope when killing language
sad that so few get the importance of straight language in politics. today LRC links to an AP article quoting vermont secession advocate peter garritano:
“The only hope is to just say, ‘Look, this isn’t working for us. We want to start fresh again, with a real democracy,’” Garritano said. “I think that’s the answer. Hopefully, it won’t take another horrible economic breakdown to realize that the people running things don’t look out for the little guy, or us, or the soldiers. It’s all about profit and getting the last drops of oil on Earth and trampling people’s rights.”
so long as fools in the goonited state use “democracy” as an essential good, they’re going nowhere but worse.
if you haven’t considered this, read closely: democracy can be communism. it can be voluntarism. it can be buddhism. it can be whatever the mob desires, for democracy is the rule of the mob. garritano is bitching about what he asserts as his goal. his rhetoric, so far off the mark, is worse than saying nothing or flapping about with literal “blah blah blah” flourishes in reply to any question. it is perverse.
those who don’t know what democracy is should, far from touting it as the god of all hope, STFU and get schooled. these language bullshitters are ripping off the sheen of voluntarism and attempting to apply it to the most insidious of social interaction systems.
