SQL, my old friend

my years of being a SQL geek have carried over to correcting, via database commands, myriad posts on this new version of my blog. fun to not have to learn something else new along with everything that’s hit me during the conversion from blogger to wordpress.

with blogger i used a hack workaround to deliver a semi-”read more of this post” continuation function, which was often bypassed with the even more hack workaround “ignore more button”. ha! happily, with a blog where i control the SQL database, it takes seconds to correct thousands of posts all at once. what a pleasure, and that’s only one example. thought my SQL knowledge was wasted for all time, then comes wordpress the nifty.

also nice that updates to the entire blog are instant, since — unlike the FTP blogger system — pages are delivered dynamically.
