licking wounds at LRC

been a pleasure watching the LRC rah rah chorus go retrograde as if it ran into an acme boing spring while wearing acme rocket boots. got statism, creeps?

sure it was fun seeing lew get the ol' throat slit on those atrocious hope-as-fact assurances to the cult, but the award for purest baloney crap tips fully to michael rozeff, who with his intrade-cognescenti-jesus routine performed an artful blog reenactment of the random street scene sketch in The Kentucky Fried Movie. oh, great analysis, michael! "lady with stroller, drop milk bottle... now!" kinda like this,
intrade kicks ass; these guys are working with cash.

markets likes clinton; you heard it here via intrade.

markets don't like clinton. intrade sends.

markets love clinton. i, and intrade, are seriously not fucking around.

nobody's perfect. oh, here's what intrade says, though this'll probably be the last time i talk about intrade here, since my wife told me i'd have better results breaking out the ol' D&D polyhedral dice from the attic, shoving them up my ass, then shitting them off the roof of our apartment building. on the other hand, i still have my favorite intrade pages bookmarked, and there's less chance of hassling with cops this way.

i forgot — VP pairings! intrade's hot for slappy white.

is slappy white alive still? need to get that question put up on intrade so i can find out ahead of time.
and as always, the excuses. the predictions weren't the problem; those goddamned people didn't behave rationally (the same irrational people the predictions presumed to cage).

right about now i can hear a numskull paulist voting-lever-pussy firing up the keyboard, yammering about how "at least" LRC made predictions; they're real men!

generally, the superior method for political horse race predictions in the form of omniscient declaration is to abstain. anyone who's paid attention for more than one US coronation race will have noted that nobody not driving the machine knows squat. considering that most any political prediction unpredictable enough to astound upon its revisiting is pure guessing/hope, if one is so unrestrained as to engage in the wank practice, the obvious proper technique before spewing in public about "successful" soothsaying is to revisit every prediction of the term. spraying and praying is not accuracy, regardless of what got hit along the way. even now when it seems RP is on the gurney flatlining, not a chance i'd declare him dead. i have no idea what might happen, and i've seen enough unpredictable lunacy from the US mob to know it. four words for anyone declaring ron paul dead: ross perot, james stockdale.

LRC in general and lew rockwell especially were flagrantly attempting to manipulate with the "egg on their faces" drool, and i guess they'll pull it out again even after the IA/NH joke. where is truth situated? where LRC's concerned, does it matter anymore?

five years ago would you have guessed you'd ever see at LRC the statist drivel now drowning out everything else? register to vote! here's how the primaries really work! great news; artie dipshit's running for dog catcher! delegates needed! deadline looming for switching parties before closed primary!

still waiting for one of those rat bastards to address what turned out to not be that big a difference between conventional polling and ron paul's vote support. bring on da analysis, lecherous humps. don't worry, its not that cold outside when you emerge briefly from within ron paul's thieving ass.

not sure if you caught this from wendy mcelroy's blog:

not too hard to connect the dots here.

thanks. no, i hadn't seen that. after reading the false slop she wrote (and retained) about rumsfeld, i don't bother with the mcelroynator. those two posts look like similar crap. so she won't "out" lew, but she'll do everything but? looks to me like she doesn't know.

not like half the supposedly outrageous shit attributed to ron paul in the newsletter was so far off base anyway. not sure it's even as scary as this vid series that's been out for months.

at least people with widely divergent views can agree on two things: fuck ron paul, and fuck LRC.

I was disappointed to see Rozeff jump in on the horse race commentary. I have almost always respected his articles - though a little too academic, some of them have been influential on me. The fact that he has been silent on the campaign until now makes me wonder why he is suddenly commenting.

I will give him one thing. He is one of the few (only?) people at LRC who is willing to say that Ron Paul may be a long shot. I was in the past one of those people who suggested that the polls would not predict actual election results (there are at least 10 reasons). I also have noticed the lack of admission that they did in fact converge to the real results.

This is not to absolve pollsters of all criticism. I mean, once you've watched Frank Luntz in action, you can't possibly take these people seriously.

can you see lew chewing his lip when he read that? ha! he said it more than once too, if i recall correctly.

[...] converge to the real results.

yeah, i always agreed that the polls were obviously flawed — just not necessarily all in the direction the RPists hoped. even the closeness was probably an accident. not that i give much of a shit about this subject, but it seems to me that maybe the self-selection aspect (excited RP loons) and the staleness of the traditional poll methods canceled each other well enough.

once you've watched Frank Luntz in action, you can't possibly take these people seriously.

but please remember, joe... Please! You can be an enthusiastic supporter of the candidate of your choice without being rude or unprofessional.

got it? don't be "unprofessional" when standing out in the street talking to a colossal fuckbot.

Regarding the crap about Mises Institute bigotry and whatnot, I honestly couldn't care less. Personally, I would avoid applying a racial filter (in isolation) to my social interactions. However, if you really mean it when you talk about freedom of association (as I think LvMI has), that includes excluding people for their race, religion, eye color or whatever.

If LvMI and LRC are going to be political, I guess that they need to be politically correct.

funny how instantly pussified the supposed anti-PCers got when they found themselves dreaming of grasping the power handle. haven't felt like tracking it down, but lew or somebody at LRC/LvMI was lauding the "libertarians can't be racist" line weeks ago.
