today's punctuation snit
by lamer convention, non-original trailing punctuation near quotes is placed inside the quote marks. thus you routinely get stupid results such as,All of poor Brit Brit's Starbucks runs and ice cream socials may be worsening her "condition," y'all.if it's not part of the quote, sense and accuracy point to placing it outside the quote marks. mystery to me why most people don't have balls enough to even make that move. when i'd submit articles elsewhere, often the only changes would be to "correct" my sensible placement of unquoted punctuation outside the quote marks.
language evolvers, bust the brickheaded fucks upside da head. if you're not quoting punctuation, don't put it in quote marks. with quote marks you're essentially saying, "this person said this." in the case of the quoted "condition" above, what's intended is obviously not only the times it was said with a trailing comma, so moving it to the other side of the quotes gives universality. for specific quotes, if he didn't say it, it shouldn't be attributed to him; bracket the shit or move it on out. grow a spine and bust a move without permission for once.
i have spoken, y'all. ding dang.
