using style sheets in an eBay auction

20060816 18:51

[update: i'll leave this post up, but experimenting indicates that linking to an external style sheet in eBay auctions ends up with too many browser configurations entirely unable to see the auction description. i recommend against it.]

as huge as eBay is, i’m surprised at the scant information via google on using style sheets (CSS) in auctions. if you googled your way here, understand that i’m not a web weenie; i only know that the method i’ve arrived at through experimenting appears to work pretty well. it may be a bunch of unnecessary crap, but i suspect not. the lingering 100% CPU flash joke of firefox

firefox illusions

after using firefox heavily for the last couple of days, i’m dropping it to go back to IE. the hype for firefox has been far out of proportion to its abilities. even adjusting for new methods, i find that firefox slows me down. (more…)

Firefox, Linux, Inc., and Media History

20050123 21:57

The old media can’t tell any story without looking for an angle. They like controversy, of course. I had one journalist ask me once for an interview to try to stir up some controversy with another journalist, and when I refused, he said that was the only story he was interested in. And there is an article today about Firefox with the headline, “Teen is co-creator of Firefox browser.” (more…)
